Valve has released its first SteamOS update (version 0.3.0) for the SteamFrame headset. This update improves charging speed and brings enhancements to controller tracking, system stability, and other aspects, while also including fixes for Vulkan and Mesa issues and improved game compatibility.
Daily Lamp learned that this update was released on September 18th. After updating their Steam Frame, users will experience faster charging speeds when the device is powered off or in hibernation mode .
In addition, this update addresses several issues. Enabling haptic feedback improves controller tracking, enhances system stability and reliability under high load, and fixes microphone noise problems.
Valve has also optimized motion smoothing in Half-Life: Alyx, added a setting to dim the game screen when the dashboard is displayed, and stopped the automatic display of boundaries in the “Game Area” interface.
For developers, SteamOS 0.3.0 adjusts performance benchmarks, allowing games to run at resolutions below 1440p, and improves compatibility with the operating system, Mesa, and Vulkan.
