On August 23, Zhang Zhuo, General Manager of BYD Ocean Network, revealed in an exclusive interview with blogger “Xiangbei Buduan Dian” that Ocean Network’s MPV may be launched by the end of the year, and stated that the MPV is also
a unique product in the market.
Daily Lamp noted that at the 2026 Beijing International Auto Show in April, BYD Ocean Network unveiled the Ocean-V concept car, claiming it to be “an off-road MPV, a camping home, a mobile home theatre, and a large toy for kids.”
The Ocean-V concept car features zero physical buttons throughout the cabin, with a one-button “ocean-viewing mode” that retracts the steering wheel and flips the dashboard to reveal a large screen. In outdoor camping mode, the Ocean-V’s seats can be arranged in two rows facing each other and folded down completely to create a large bed. Currently, it is unclear whether Ocean Network’s upcoming MPV at the end of the year is related to this car.
According to Wangchao.com, the BYD 2026 Summer MPV, which was launched last November, has a pure electric range of 100 km and 218 km under CLTC conditions, and a NEDC fuel consumption of 4.9L/100km when the battery is depleted.
The vehicle is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5T engine and a front-mounted single electric motor. The 1.5T engine has a maximum power of 115 kW and a peak torque of 225 Nm; the electric motor has a maximum power of 200 kW and a peak torque of 315 Nm.
