Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri received Miss World Nigeria 2026, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, at Government House in Yenagoa on Tuesday.
Governor Diri congratulated the Rivers-born beauty queen on her victory and urged her to remain focused as she prepares to represent Nigeria at the Miss World pageant in Vietnam.
He described her victory as a proud moment for the Ijaw nation, Bayelsa State, and Nigeria, while commending the organisers of the pageant for conducting a fair and credible competition.
The governor also assured Tamunosoye of the Bayelsa State Government’s full support ahead of the international contest.
