The Executive Chairman of Ikom Local Government Area, Hon. Pst. (Mrs) Mercy Nsor, partook in the Presidential Engagement alongside her 773 counterparts in an interactive session with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock, Abuja.
The interactive session, organized by the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs in collaboration with the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), was facilitated for the President to engage Council Chairmen across the 774 LGAs on key policy priorities, grassroots development, and practical measures to ensure Federal Government programmes are translated into tangible benefits for citizens at the local government and grassroots level.
The conference, themed “Cascading President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to the Grassroots,” brought together Chairmen of the 774 Local Government Councils and Chairmen of Traditional Rulers’ Councils in Nigeria.
Hon. Nsor’s participation underscores her administration’s commitment and dedication to keeping Ikom LGA connected to national development programmes and opportunities that can directly improve the lives of the people, especially in rural communities of her LGA.
This programme will help bring about relevant ideas and opportunities that will complement ongoing efforts under her administration’s development agenda across the eleven Council Wards of Ikom LGA.
The interactive session will help equip the Chairman of Ikom LGA with the necessary renewed perspective that will help support grassroots development, ensure adequate economic empowerment, improve social welfare, as well as local governance under the President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and in line with Governor Otu’s People First Mantra.
