Zenith Bank has announced that it is investigating an incident involving unauthorised access to customers’ static data, assuring customers that the breach does not involve financial information and that all banking services remain secure.
In a public notice issued on Wednesday, the bank said the incident forms part of a broader global cyber-attack that has targeted multiple international organisations across different sectors.
According to the bank, it immediately activated its incident response protocols, cybersecurity measures and remediation efforts after discovering the unauthorised access.
The bank stressed that its banking services and digital channels remain fully operational and secure despite the incident.
“As a precaution, we encourage our customers to remain vigilant against phishing emails, text messages, or phone calls, and to never disclose their password, PIN, One-Time Password (OTP), or other security credentials to anyone,” the statement read.
Zenith Bank reiterated its commitment to protecting customers’ information and maintaining the trust and confidence of its customers.
The bank advised customers seeking further clarification to contact Zenith Direct through its customer service lines or via email.
The public notice was issued on August 5, 2026, as the bank continues efforts to investigate the incident and strengthen its cybersecurity response.
