Woman dies in early morning fire after alleged night out in Uyo

    A tragic fire incident has claimed the life of a woman at No. 28 Ikpa Road, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, in the early hours of the morning.

    According to accounts circulating online, a man reportedly returned from a nightclub with a woman he had met there after they allegedly agreed to spend the night together.

    At about 5:30 a.m., a fire reportedly broke out in the apartment, destroying property and trapping the woman inside. She was burnt to death, while the male occupant managed to escape.

    During questioning, the man allegedly told those at the scene that the woman was someone he had met at the club that night. He said he did not know her name, address, or any details that could help identify or contact her family.

    Authorities are expected to investigate the cause of the fire and formally identify the deceased. Anyone whose relative or friend has not returned home after a night out is advised to contact the appropriate authorities for assistance.
