The team bus of Rivers United F.C. was involved in a road accident on Thursday along the Obiri-Ikwerre Airport Road near Port Harcourt.
Daily Lamp learned that the accident happened while the team was travelling to Awka for its President’s Federation Cup Round of 16 match against Nasarawa United FC.
The club confirmed that some players and officials sustained minor injuries in the incident. However, no fatalities or life-threatening injuries were recorded.
According to the club, those affected are receiving medical attention and are in stable condition.
