Hilda Dokubo is a veteran Nollywood actress, filmmaker, social activist and politician who has continued to make her mark in entertainment and public service.
Born on October 22, 1969, in Buguma, Asari-Toru LGA, Rivers State, Hilda Dokubo is the first of six children. She had her primary education at St. Mary State School, Aggrey Road, and secondary education at Government Girls Secondary School, before proceeding to the University of Port Harcourt, where she obtained both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Theatre Arts.
Hilda Dokubo began her acting journey at a very young age and made her professional screen debut in 1992 during her National Youth Service with the movie Evil Passion. She went on to feature in several Nollywood productions, including Gone Forever, End of the Wicked, My Goodwill, The CEO and Stigma.
Her role in Stigma earned her the Best Actress in a Supporting Role award at the 2015 Africa Movie Academy Awards.
Beyond Nollywood, Hilda Dokubo is known for her commitment to youth empowerment and social development. She has also ventured into politics, serving as a Special Adviser on Youth Affairs to former Rivers State Governor Peter Odili and later becoming involved in the Labour Party, where she served as the party’s Rivers State chairman.
Today, Hilda Dokubo remains one of Rivers State’s prominent women, with a career spanning acting, filmmaking, advocacy, youth development and politics.
