The Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, PhD, on Tuesday received the Weekend Politics crew of the Cross River Broadcasting Corporation (CRBC), led by Mr Joseph Inyang, in his office on a courtesy visit.
Speaking during the visit, Deputy Governor Odey congratulated the Weekend Politics crew on the milestone, describing five years of consistent political discourse and public engagement as a remarkable achievement.
He commended the team for its professionalism and commitment to promoting informed discussions, as well as its consistent support in projecting the activities and policies of the Cross River State Government. He assured the delegation of the government’s continued support and wished the programme even greater success in the years ahead.
Earlier, the Team Lead of Weekend Politics, Mr Joseph Inyang, thanked the Deputy Governor for receiving the delegation despite the short notice.
He described Rt. Hon. Peter Odey as a humble, accessible, and media-friendly leader whose openness and responsiveness have endeared him to the media, the people of Cross River State, and particularly the younger generation.
Mr Inyang explained that the purpose of the visit was to formally invite the Deputy Governor to the Political Conference being organised by the Weekend Politics team as part of activities marking the programme’s fifth anniversary on air.
He expressed confidence that the Deputy Governor’s participation would enrich the conference and further demonstrate the administration’s commitment to constructive political engagement, democratic governance, and media collaboration.
