In his account, the Chief said he purchased a parcel of land years ago but lacked the funds to develop it. After some time, he alleged that he was informed the same land had been sold to a military officer identified only as a “Major.”
According to the Chief, he visited the site to address the issue and was assaulted during the encounter. He stated that he was beaten and spent nine days in a coma following the incident. Upon his discharge from the hospital, he said he returned to the land and “threw something there,” an action he connected to subsequent events at the location.
Chief Utetenegiabi further alleged that the incident resulted in the deaths of the Major, the Major’s son, and the contractor working on the property. He claimed that about nine people in total died in connection with the matter. The statement was made directly by the Chief and has since circulated publicly.
