More than 1,500 Bishops of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS) from across the world are expected to converge on Calabar, Cross River State, on August 22, 2026, for the annual Bishops’ Day Celebration.
The event, to be hosted by the Abuja/Northern States Forum, will take place at the Brotherhood’s World Headquarters, 34 Ambo Street, Calabar.
Chairman of the Planning Committee, Archbishop (Prince) Uche Victor, assured that the gathering would be spiritually impactful, expressing confidence that the convergence of over 1,500 Bishops and Archbishops would bring immense spiritual benefits not only to participants but also to Nigeria and the world at large.
He said extensive preparations had been concluded to ensure a successful celebration, describing the annual event as a unique platform for fellowship, spiritual renewal and the strengthening of the Church’s mission.
The Dean of the BCS College of Bishops, The Patriarch Christ Shepherd Bassey Imowo, said the essence of the celebration is to magnify the glory of the Godhead, urging Bishops to remain faithful servant-leaders in their respective jurisdictions and professional fields.
According to him, the gathering will also afford the Bishops the unique privilege of being addressed, blessed and receiving the proclamation of divine policies from His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, whom members revere as the King of kings and Lord of lords.
The College of Bishops Secretariat, in a statement signed by the College Secretary, PCS Mike Ntuk, urged all categories of Bishops worldwide to prayerfully prepare for the event, describing it as a spiritually uplifting and rewarding gathering that offers opportunities for fellowship and divine blessings.
The 2026 Bishops’ Day Celebration is expected to attract Bishops from Africa, Europe, the Americas and Asia, making Calabar the focal point of one of the Brotherhood’s largest annual spiritual gatherings.
Highlights of the celebration will include charity outreaches to welfare centres in Calabar.
