The Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, has approved the deployment of a high-capacity transformer to Otu Ansa Owok Nyama Community in Calabar Metropolis, ending a two-year electricity outage that affected residents, businesses, and other economic activities in the area.
The intervention, facilitated through the Cross River State Electrification Agency, forms part of the Governor’s People First agenda to strengthen electricity infrastructure and expand access to reliable power supply across communities in the state.
Presenting the transformer on behalf of the Governor, the Director General of the Cross River State Electrification Agency, Mr Francis Ekpo, said the approval reflects Governor Otu’s commitment to responding to the needs of citizens through practical interventions that improve their quality of life and stimulate economic growth.
Mr Ekpo assured that the State Government will continue to invest in electricity infrastructure and extend power to underserved communities, reaffirming the administration’s resolve to ensure that more Cross Riverians enjoy stable and reliable electricity.
