The Management of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), has warned parents, guardians and prospective students against individuals demanding money under the false pretext of securing admission into the University.
Management stated that any staff member found involved in such acts will face disciplinary action, including dismissal.
The University also clarified that the recently released cut-off marks represent the merit cut-off for the current phase of the 2026/2027 admission exercise and should not be regarded as the final basis for admission throughout the exercise.
FUPRE said admission will continue in subsequent phases, with other approved criteria applied in line with its admission framework and expanded admission capacity.
Candidates who chose FUPRE, scored 160 and above in the UTME, participated in the Post-UTME exercise and meet the relevant requirements have been urged to remain calm and confident.
The University stated that the increased admission quota has significantly expanded its capacity, giving qualified candidates a strong prospect of securing admission, subject to approved criteria and available spaces.
Parents, guardians and prospective students are advised to rely only on official University information and approved admission channels.
