According to CCTV News, the main structure of Huizhou 19-6, Asia’s largest offshore crude oil processing platform, was completed in Zhuhai on Saturday. Once completed, it will support the development and production of a large-scale integrated oilfield with reserves of hundreds of millions of tons in the Pearl River Estuary Basin.
According to the original report, the Huizhou 19-6 platform is a three-story, eight-legged crude oil processing platform. The upper module is about 85 meters high, equivalent to the height of a 30-story residential building, with a projected area close to 13 standard basketball courts, and a designed floating weight of about 29,000 tons.
Meanwhile, in response to the large size and numerous modules of the marine engineering equipment, the construction team innovatively integrated the equipment on the ground and adopted a multi-area deck assembly hoisting process, reducing the original 30 deck assembly hoisting operations to 10, achieving an integrated construction rate of over 90%.
The project will subsequently undergo pipeline installation, cable laying, and equipment commissioning. Once completed, the platform will be applied to the Huizhou 19-6 oilfield, China’s first discovered large-scale, integrated oilfield with reserves exceeding 100 million tons in deep-sea and ultra-deep clastic rock formations, providing support for the efficient development of this oilfield and ensuring national energy supply.
