According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is preparing to launch a new iMac model featuring an upgraded chip and new colour options.
In his latest Power On communications, Gurman wrote that the new model is likely to be a 24-inch upgrade with the M6 chip, replacing the existing M4 model, which will be launched in October 2024.
New colour options are reportedly in the works, but Gurman did not reveal the specific colours. Daily Lamp notes that the current iMac comes in seven colours: green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver.
Aside from that, the new model is not expected to have any major design changes. Apple is reportedly developing a 24-inch iMac with an OLED display, but that won’t be available for several years.
Gurman said, “All indications point to the imminent release of the M6 model,” which is expected to be available before the end of the year.
