    The Akwa Ibom Mainland Missionary Diocese of the African Church is upbeat as they roll out the drum to celebrate their Bishop, His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Ekere Eseme George, as he marks his episcopal consecration anniversary today, Saturday, June 20, 2026.

    The anniversary celebration with the theme, “The God of all grace,” will feature Thanksgiving, praise, worship and prayers, with key leaders of the Church, associates of the celebrator, and people of goodwill expected to join Bishop Eseme George and his family to mark the milestone.

    The celebration scheduled from 5 pm will be held at St James’ Cathedral, 198 Oron Road, Uyo, by the popular Primary School commonly known as Mayflower.

    Rt. Rev. Ekere George holds a first Degree in Urban & Regional Planning from the University of Uyo and was consecrated Bishop by the Primate of the African Church, His Eminence Julius O. O. Abbe, on June 20, 2025.

    He was ordained a Priest in 2006, elevated to an Archdeacon in 2012 and hails from Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area.
