The Nnenna Oti Bus Terminal in Umuahia, commissioned by Governor Alex Otti in May 2026, has impressed travellers based on the organisation and state-of-the-art facilities and services.
The terminal holds over 340 buses and features air conditioning, shops, and restrooms with complete WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) facilities.
The terminal was named after Governor Oti’s wife, Nnenna.
Reacting online, Nigerians have compared it favourably to underused terminals in Enugu and even some airports, while praising its European train station vibe.
A larger terminal is now under construction in Aba, highlighting Abia’s push for better transport amid calls for steady maintenance.
