…As Mkpat Enin People Pledge Unalloyed Support for ARISE Agenda

In a major boost to rural healthcare delivery, the Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, PhD, has commissioned a Model Primary Healthcare Centre at Ikot Ekpe in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, Monday, September 14, 2026.
The state-of-the-art facility is designed to provide accessible, affordable and quality healthcare services to the rural dwellers of Mkpat Enin, while drastically reducing maternal and infant mortality rates.
Governor Eno, who was represented at the commissioning ceremony by the Honourable Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Prof. Eno Ibanga, said the project is a fulfilment of his campaign promise to take quality healthcare to the grassroots in line with the ARISE Agenda. He assured the people that more life-touching projects are underway across the state.
In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, expressed profound gratitude to Governor Umo Eno for the laudable project, describing it as a clear demonstration of his people-centric governance. He assured the Governor of the continued support and loyalty of Mkpat Enin people, especially as the electioneering season approaches.
Goodwill messages poured in from eminent personalities including the former Transition Chairman, Hon. Lady Ekaete Usip, who spoke on behalf of Mkpat Enin women. She thanked the Governor for siting a project that directly impacts women and children, and pledged 100% support from the womenfolk.
Other dignitaries who delivered goodwill messages included the Member representing Mkpat Enin State Constituency, Hon. Uwem Imoh-Ita; the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Obong Stephen Ntukekpo; and Dr. Idara Ephraim Akpan, among others.
The host community also expressed appreciation. The Village Head of Ikot Ekpe, Eteidung Akpan John Udoh, in an interview with newsmen, expressed joy and commended Governor Umo Eno for his benevolence and inclusive development strides.
The well-attended ceremony attracted top government functionaries, including members of the State Executive Council, members of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, the ALGON Chairman, Local Government Chairmen, Permanent Secretaries and other high-profile personalities.
