Frontline Niger Delta leader, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has visited Azikel Refinery in Bayelsa State and commended its President, Dr Eruani Azibapu, CFR, for his vision and investment in the region.
Tompolo, who toured the $1 billion, 25,000-barrel-per-day refinery, described Dr Eruani as a leader of the new industrialisation of the Niger Delta, the South-South and Nigeria.
He praised the project for promoting local industrialisation, creating employment and adding value to Nigeria’s crude oil resources.
“I am proud of this industrial development that Dr Eruani Azibapu, CFR, has ignited here in Bayelsa, the Niger Delta, the South-South States and Nigeria,” Tompolo said.
Azikel Refinery is designed to process crude oil and condensate into products including petrol, diesel, kerosene, aviation fuel, heavy fuel oil and LPG.
