Candidate for Ikot Ekpene/Obot Akara State Constituency of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Prince Samuel Ukut, is set to commission a newly built apartment for a vulnerable resident of Ikot Ediet Village in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The commissioning ceremony, scheduled for today, Friday, August 14, 2026, is seen as a compassionate home initiative aimed at building hope, restoring dignity and transforming the lives of vulnerable members of the community.
According to the event invitation, the house was built for Mr. Imo Okuk Etim, a resident of Ikot Ediet Village, by Prince Samuel Ukut, a House of Assembly candidate for Ikot Ekpene/Obot Akara State Constituency under the NDC, and Sir Nsikak Umoren, founder of the Nsikak Umoren Foundation, listed as the sponsors.
The project is expected to provide the beneficiary with a safer and more dignified living environment, replacing his previous living conditions shown in the “before” photographs on the invitation.
The intervention follows an earlier public appeal for assistance for Etim, whose living condition was described as deteriorating. In the appeal, Ibipntak Essien called on the Akwa Ibom State Government, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and other well meaning individuals to support the vulnerable resident and help improve his situation.
The commissioning, scheduled for 10 a.m., is expected to draw community members and other stakeholders to the beneficiary’s residence in Ikot Ediet Village.
Pundits say the intervention is consistent with Prince Samuel Ukut’s documented focus on community development, empowerment and humanitarian initiatives.
