Hon. Victor Abang PhD, popularly known as “Mature,” has secured the ticket to represent Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections after emerging victorious in the party’s House of Representatives primaries.
The indirect primary election, which took place peacefully across the 22 wards in Ikom and Boki Local Government Areas, featured six aspirants and was widely applauded for its transparency, credibility, and orderly conduct.
Delegates from both LGAs participated actively in the exercise, which party stakeholders described as a true reflection of internal democracy and political maturity within the party structure.
Following the collation of results, Hon. Abang recorded a decisive victory to clinch the party’s mandate ahead of the general elections.
Party leaders and observers commended the peaceful atmosphere that characterized the exercise, noting that the successful conduct of the primaries was made possible through the commitment of party faithful and the leadership efforts of the Executive Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Apostle Sen. [Prince] Bassey Edet Otu, whose inclusive approach continues to strengthen unity and stability within the party.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Victor Abang expressed Appreciation to delegates, stakeholders, and party leadership for the trust placed in him.
He reaffirmed his commitment to an all-inclusive representation focused on advancing the development and welfare of the people of Ikom and Boki Federal Constituency.
Supporters and party members have since called on all aspirants and stakeholders to close ranks and work collectively towards ensuring victory for the party in the forthcoming elections.
