About 150 applicants seeking appointment as Permanent Secretaries in the Cross River State Civil Service have been disqualified from the selection process.
The development was disclosed by Head of Service, Cross River State, Mr Orok Bassey Okon, Esq, in an interview on CRBC radio earlier this month.
The disqualification affects applicants who had sought to participate in the process for the appointment of Permanent Secretaries in the state.
Okon says the affected applicants were screened out during the process, leaving a reduced number of candidates to proceed in the exercise.
The development comes amid the Cross River State Government’s ongoing process to select candidates for appointment as Permanent Secretaries in the state civil service.
According to the Head of Service, the disqualification involved about 150 applicants.
A previous official statement by the Cross River State Government said 263 duly cleared candidates had been shortlisted to sit for a Computer-Based Test for consideration for appointment as Permanent Secretaries.
The examination was held on August 29, 2026, at the ICT Hub of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS), Calabar Campus.
